Interact
2018

Interact explores the concept of space and distance between humans from different cultures. It is a place to think about distances we ignore. This exhibition is a subtle and delicate action that hides behind an occasion for reflection. Through video performance, interactive social practice, installation and street art, the visitor is required to listen, think and possibly take action. It is an invitation to reflect on our current times and how cultures often divide instead of unite us. All works were made in collaboration with Veronica Mognato.

Stitch
Canvas, thread, needle
40" x 40"

Stitch is a white canvas ready for an audience to interact. It hangs from the ceiling with a needle and red thread attached, ready to be used by the visitor. They can leave a trace of their presence in the space.

You and Me
Wall, sidewalk, spray can
3' x 27" and 12" x 15"

You and me is a site specific work made by two components. One is a red bar which measures the length of two personal spaces, based on arms' length. The stenciled text is a quote by Edward T. Hall with the intent to remind people of the importance of cultural acceptance. The text was sprayed in a specific area of Austin, TX.
